Race Details

The First Run 5K/10K starts at 11 a.m. on January 1st with a mass start for both races in front of Bowlero Lowell. Click a section below for more details!

The Courses

The 5K and 10K BOTH start together at 11:00 a.m. The course is mostly flat as it winds through the quaint neighborhood of Pawtucketville. We'll have traffic control at major intersections, mile markers, water stops, and emergency vehicles on standby. Check out the course maps below to get an idea of what the run will be like!

The After-Party

There’s no better way to finish a brisk morning run than with an awesome after-party featuring complimentary bloody marys, mimosas, and Smuttynose Beer (21+). There will also be hot pizza, bananas, and granola bars.

New for 2024: All 2023 participants now get free unlimited bowling from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM (including shoe rentals) at Bowlero Lowell!

NOTICE: Set your GPS to 1001 Pawtucket Boulevard, Lowell, MA 01854. This is the approved parking location for all participants. There will not be parking available at Bowlero. Please do not park at the nearby Market Basket and Marshalls. 

Packet Pickup

Early packet pick-up will be held at CrossFit Lowell on Saturday, December 31st, 2024 from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Participants are encouraged to pick up their bib at early packet pickup to make for a less stressful race morning. Can’t make it to early packet pick-up? No worries! Day of packet pick-up on Sunday, January 1st, 2024 will be offered at Bowlero Lowell from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM. You will receive you bib and quarter zip pullover fleece at packet pickup and your medals at the finish! Fleeces won’t be mailed out after the event if you don’t pick yours up, so don’t oversleep!

If you plan on picking your bib up the day of the race, please arrive no later than 9:45 AM to ensure you have enough time to park, check-in, and stretch before the 11:00 AM start. There’s plenty of parking at the 1001 Pawtucket Blvd lot.

We'll post the results of the race and photos here following the event, so be sure to check back after you run!

For both the 5K and 10K, awards with be given to the top three overall male and female runners and to the overall male and females winners in each age group: 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. There will not be an awards ceremony or tent at the event. ALL awards will be mailed out to division winners after the event!
